The Gloucestershire Rural Community Council is a Charitable Company Limited by Guarantee (Registration No. 1054282) and governed by a Board of Trustees, it promotes equality of opportunity for people living in rural areas.

The Local History Committee includes representatives from many local history societies in the county, the county record office and local studies centres, and meets quarterly to discuss matters relating to local history in Gloucestershire. It encourages the study of local history in the county by local history societies and individuals within Gloucestershire, by organisation of meetings and by publications.

Any local history society in the county may nominate a representative to attend the quarterly meeting. Membership of the Gloucestershire Rural Community Council is £25 a year for societies and £20 for individuals. In return for this they receive regular copies of Rural Regeneration, a copy of Gloucestershire History and the annual local history newsletter together with free entry to the Local History Afternoon in October for individual members.

Membership enquiries should be made to Naomi McMahon at the above address.
