Local History Archives (Gloucestershire Societies)

Many societies and communities have collected documents, maps, photographs, census details, school and church registers, etc., relating to their areas. These are mostly kept in houses of private individuals but in some cases are available to researchers by prior appointment.

The Local History Association is keen to publicize any local history archive to which the genuine local history researcher can have access and an initial list is given below.

Chipping Campden

The Campden and District Historical and Archaeological Society archive is kept in The Old Police Station, High Street, Chipping Campden, for openings hours visit www.chippingcampdenhistory.org.uk

Cranham

Minchinhampton

Nailsworth

The Nailsworth Town archive is located in the Town Hall, Horsley Road, Nailsworth and is currently open Monday mornings 10 to 12.

Swindon Village Society
